Bajo World Of Butterflies Sorter Puzzle

Children will love this wooden puzzle by Bajo featuring eight chunky wooden butterfly figures from around the world, each a different species beautifully painted to represent the wonderful biodiversity on our planet.

This sorting puzzle combines the dazzling colours symmetry and diversity of butterflies, with each figure having a different design on each side. Take them out of the sorter, line them up, work out which one goes where, stack them one on top of the other and play with them on an adventure. These wooden butterflies are smooth, warm and tactile, and children will enjoy playing with them imaginatively. Stacking the pieces will bring on children's dexterity and hand to eye co-ordination as well as encouraging sharing and turn-taking if playing with a sibling.

With so many possibilities for learning through play, the Bajo Butterfly Sorter puzzle is a great play resource for home educators and early years settings. Made from sustainable European sycamore and a birch wood board and painted with certified non-toxic water based paints.

    Suitable from 18 months.

    Sorter measures 26.5 cm x 16.5 cm x 2.5 cm.

Schematic play: positioning schema; trajectory schema

Sensory toy: hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor skills

Beautiful open ended toy

For daughter got this for her 2nd birthday and straight away it was a big hit. She loved the chunky feel of the butterflies and the fact they are double sided is a nice touch adding to the play value. The board is also great for sensory play, we fill it with rice and playdough and the butterflies themselves can be used to draw around or as stamps in playdough (or even with paint, due to the shiny side they are easy to clean) Really good play value had from this toy.

A Brief Bajo Story

A Brief Bajo Story

Established in the tiny village of Kamionna in Poland, at the foot of the mountain bearing the same name, Bajo were making toys at the break of the '90s when the free market was virtually non-existent in Poland. Bajo produce toys that can be made without the need for specialised skills, in order to employ elderly and disabled individuals, as well as people who find it difficult to compete for work. The toys they make carry notion of solidarity in themselves. In the design process they always focus on the possibilities of reaching out to new people.
