A beautiful and informative book

We really enjoyed this book. It’s a wonderful introduction into the story behind the Nobel Peace prize with a varied mix of winners of the awards from across the years. Some more recognisable names and also some lesser known. All captured beautifully alongside gorgeous illustrations making it a really inviting read.

Interesting read, definitely taught me some new things

I read this book with my 3 boys who are 6, 9 and 13. It definitely appealed most to my 9 year old who is a bit like a sponge atm always keen to delve into pots of information. It was interesting to hear from my 13 year old which of these stories/nobel peace prize winners he'd already heard of. I think we all learnt a lot from the book. It's packed with information but because of the illustrations and the way it's laid out it's not too heavy and the stories are presented in a very approachable fashion. I can imagine it would be a great book for a school library too as then individual stories could be looked at when subjects fall in the area/timeline/subject.

Wonderfully informative

Most people have heard of the Nobel prize but I didn't actually know that much about it and I feel like the first page of this book alone contained so much information in such a small amount of space. It's very well explained while still able to be easily understandable by the reader.

The book contains the stories of 12 Nobel Peace prize Laureates from easily recognisable names like Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela to others that I hadn't heard of like Shirin Ebadi, Rigoberta Menchú Tum and Fridtjof Nansen. My daughter, aged 9, in particular is very empathetic and is a social justice warrior and really enjoyed reading about people who stood up for others and those who made choices that bettered the lives of others. Peace and Me is a great informative read aimed at those aged around 7+ and after reading it I've popped the book Science and Me into my basket too.

This book is aimed slightly older than most of the other books we've had from Babipur but I feel it'd still be of benefit to have on a shelf for a child to grow with. Whether that be paraphrasing about what the people inside did wgile reading together or to have on a shelf for children to explore on their own.

Very inspiring

Its a beautiful book with lovely inspiring stories.

The stories were simple enough for my 4yo to understand yet leave plenty of room for him to learn something new each time we re-visited the same story. My 2yr old is still too young to understand this book but he enjoyed flipping through the book, looking at the big, colourful illustrations.

The bite-sized stories makes reading fun for younger readers. The different definitions of "Peace" written across each story prompted us to discuss what it means and how it inspires us.

I love that there is no need to finish the book in one sitting but to allow the story to work it's magic in our thoughts.

We also did a couple of bookish play based on some of the stories!
