Haiku's aren't my thing, but this book is!

I'm really not into Haiku's as poetry, as they often read as statements or short sentences and I usually just don't get the poetry in it personally

Definitely recommend

A bright, colourful book introducing mindfulness concepts to children through an alphabet of short poems.

This beautifully diverse book promotes things like creativity, nature, movement, acceptance, and being gentle with yourself as a way to boost wellness and increase positivity.

Each haiku has 3 or 4 lines so it's great to just flick to a random page for a quick positive message or it's not too long to read cover to cover as was the case in our house.

I think all people, not just kids, could benefit from these little poems.

I'd happily recommend this book for all ages as the concepts would apply for all.

This book introduces children to wellbeing and mindfulness concepts in 26 poems - one for each letter of the alphabet.

This is the type of book I wish had been around when I was a child, it's a great book for starting up conversations about various concepts of wellbeing including some which myself as an adult have only just discovered.

I've only read it once with my eldest son who is 6 and it was a great as we discussed the concepts which we are doing well or could work more at. For example we both agreed that it's ok to make mistakes and the important thing is that we learn from them. I hope to be revisiting this book regularly with him and my younger son too.

The book itself is in hardback format and the illustrations are beautiful with inclusive characters.

Although this book is a children's book I'd happily recommend it for all ages as there are some great reminders which would be useful for all of us.

Incredibly beautiful mindfulness book for children

This book is simply beautiful - from the 26 Haikus to the pictures accompanying each one. The wording is pitched perfectly for children introducing them to concepts such as well-being encompassing connecting, learning, giving, taking notice and being active.

My almost 4 year old enjoys the poems whilst my two year old likes identifying the letters associated with each poem and looking at the beautiful pictures.
It could also be enjoyed by older children and adult as the concepts would apply equally across all ages with each haiku acting as a daily reminder how to be more mindful.

We will definitely enjoy the book for many years to come and be able to use the relevant poem as and when situations arise in the trials and tribulations of being a young child growing up in a sometimes busy and overwhelming world.
