Beautiful book

I received this book few days back and we've been reading it almost daily. With the festivities around this book arrived at the perfect moment. Each page of this book gives you a glimpse of festival all around the globe with its enchanting illustrations and introduces you to a new culture and diversity. My 5 year old loves it and there are so many questions each time we read it. Sometimes we read just one page, get to know what festival it is and discuss about the same. It has events like Diwali, Chinese New Year, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Halloween and more. Not just the events the end gives you a beautiful message that its okay to slow down a bit.

So inclusive, warm and perfect for all

Oh I love this book! I knew from the moment I saw a small snippet in one of Charlotte's hangout posts that I had to add this one to our collection. The first thing that stood out to me was how non of the celebrations are actually named, which made me love the book instantly! As someone who celebrates the Winter Solstice rather than Christmas, it can be difficult to find children's books that mention that festive time of year without calling it Christmas or mentioning Angels and so on. It's lovely just how inclusive this book really is, as many different cultures and religions celebrate similar festivals under different names. It also gave my children an opportunity to research the different celebrations the pages refer to, and really learn more about them. Though I already knew many of the festivals of light throughout this book, I was unsure what some of them were, why they were celebrated and by whom so I learnt some things myself too.

The story itself has a lovely flow, with lines that rhyme and not too much text. It is so soothing to read, so gentle, making it a perfect bedtime story. Some stories can be a bit too exciting and bold for bedtime, as my little ones can get a bit too giddy. This one is perfect.

Whilst this book is wonderful for gaining an insight into other people's interests, religions and culture, it also has a lovely personal message for the reader at the end; A reminder that even when we feel small we are always enough, and when times are hard we just need to look for the light at the end of the tunnel. It was a moment I really felt, and didn't expect after so much talk of happy celebrations. It was comforting. I really do love this book and all the warm beautiful illustrations within it

Beautiful story!

This book is perfect for this time of year, it covers the celebrations such as Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas, Halloween and more!

We love how this book introduces different religions and cultures. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and bright, really engaging even for small readers like Molly.

The book is from the perspective of the little glow and it’s such a beautiful read. The message and emotions through the book got Matthew talking a lot. When the dad came home at the end and had cwtches from his family, Matthew said it was beautiful, and got him thinking about when his dad works away sometimes and how happy he feels when he comes home.

Beautiful book

This is such a lovely book. The illustrations are just beautiful and there is always something new to find each time we read it. My little girl (3yrs) loves finding Little Glow on each page, and talking about the different things we can see and what kind of expression Little Glow has. Our favourite page is Christmas as there are so many things to look at. My little one loves the cat at Halloween too!

It's a really lovely way to introduce the different religious and cultural celebrations going on around us, and I liked that it was written from the perspective of Little Glow.

The sentiment at the end was really lovely and an important message for us all I think.

I would highly recommend this book and I am already planning on who I can get it for for Christmas. It's a big hit with my little girl-we've read it about 15 times since receiving it on Saturday
