A vivid and colourful introduction to mindfulness

This is a vivid, colourful book, bright and enticing for my 4 old and me.
It takes us on Kayas journey into the jungle where she discovers a broken down carousel. As she occupies her hands carefully unwinding the vines from the colourful elephants her mind quietens and she begins to hear her heart song.

This is a wonderful introduction to mindfulness practice for small children and there's a nice page at the end which explains a bit more about the idea.

My daughter loved the heart theme throughout, the butterflies, vines and also on the houses, spotting the hearts was great fun. The page with all Kayas friends arriving and peeping through the leaves was her favourite and she loved seeing them all doing yoga on the elephants - she noticed Kayas cushion also had elephants.

Overall a lovely read and beautiful book visually that provides a great way to open up the idea of mindfulness practice to children.

Fab intro to mindfulness

A book filled with beautiful illustrations and a lovely heartwarming story introducing young children to mindfulness. We loved the flow of text and the repetition of the onomatopoeia throughout.

Kaya is introduced to the idea of mindfulness by her mother while doing yoga. She doesn't fully understand what her mother is talking about and embarks on a journey into the forest where she discovers her own heart song as part of this magical story.

A magical and whimsical book

Kaya's Heart Song an uplifting book about Kaya who is in search of her heart song - the song that happy hearts sing.

Kaya follows a butterfly into a part of the jungle she's not familiar with. She discovers a carousel which is broken down and has been abandoned. As she sets about removing the vines off it her mind quietens and she hears the beat of her heart song. The carousel begins to turn and the elephants move in time with the music.

It's a magical and whimsical book and you definitely need to let your imagination run wild to enjoy it. My favourite thing about Kaya's Heart Song is the stunning illustrations and vibrant colours throughout the book. Both of my boys (4 and 6) enjoyed the book and their favourite bit was when the elephants were brought to life.

There is also a useful section at the back of the book explains the concept of mindfulness.

Bright and beautiful

We have had this book for a while but reread it recently - my 6yo really loved it this time around and understood more what the book is about now... he told me his heart sang when he saw his friends back at school after lockdown was over and it would sing really loudly if he ever got to go on the Polar Express so definitely understood the concept
