Mamalila Berry Softshell Veste de portage Allrounder

I am expecting my second baby in a couple of weeks. I carried my first baby from early days and still carry her now at 3 years old. Much prefer it to a pram because I walk in the countryside with the dog. My first was born in May and so weather was mild. Once I got to winter she was able to be wrapped up warm and I compromised fitting my other coats around her. However, this time with an October baby I wanted to be prepared for all the potentially cold, rainy and windy walks I will do with a newborn in a sling.
I found the Mamalila jackets and was given one for my birthday. I am so happy that I chose this jacket. The quality is comparable to the outdoor jackets that I own such as Arcteryx. Details like the soft elastication of the sleeve ends, fleece lined pockets and the clever cut to incorporate the various inserts make it feel very high end.
I have a comparatively small bump to others but the bump insert works well and has kept me warm on some autumn evening outdoor adventures when my usual coats wouldn’t have zipped up. I have also tried the rear insert with my three year old on my back and she fits!
I’m between a size 10 and 12 and 5’9” and I went with a medium after measuring myself on the chart. Plenty of room for a fleece underneath on future colder days but still has a flattering fit.
I would really recommend and so glad that I have this to go through the whole of my baby wearing journey this time!

I'm so pleased with my Mamalila jacket! I've now had it for over a year and it's my most worn item of clothing. I bought it when I was pregnant with my second child and thanks to the pregnancy insert I was able to wear it as the weather turned colder towards the end of my pregnancy (October/November). I started baby wearing from day 4 with my newborn and we were so cozy all snuggled up together. I was also delighted to find that my 2 year old (now 3 year old) fit inside when he was on my back and still does. Without any inserts in, it's the best fitting jacket I've ever owned - probably because it's actually designed to fit a woman's body shape! Now my youngest is a year old and he still snuggles up inside my jacket with me multiple times a week. I rave about mamalila to anyone who will listen to me, I've even had strangers stop me ana ask where I got it... At the time I purchased it, the fully waterproof one wasn't available so I got the softshell one instead. As I live in very rainy Scotland, I sometimes wish that I had the fully waterproof one, but I've washed it with some waterproofing tech wash a couple of times and it's holding up brilliantly. Service from Babipur was excellent. When the jacket arrived, the baby wearing insert was missing (which wasn't too terrible at the time since I was still pregnant and didn't need it straight away), but Babipur staff were fantastic and quickly got me an insert in the post and I had it in plenty time before baby arrived.
