Ecoliving Citric Acid 750g

I bought this citric acid to try and be more be a bit more eco-friendly in terms of the plastic free packaging and natural ingredients.

So far, I've only used it to clean the toilet. The instructions suggest pouring half a bag down the toilet and leaving it overnight. I thought the quantity required was a bit excessive, given that I'd only ordered one bag. I put significantly less in the toilet - probably about quarter of the bag. In the end, I only left it in the toilet for a few hours because I decided to do it in the daytime whilst the kids were at school. Given that I didn't follow the instructions directly, I was very impressed with the results. It removed the brown stains that had developed in the toilet. We do live in a soft water area, so I imagine if you lived in a hard water area and had a lot of limescale (or servere staining), you'd probably want to follow the quantites suggested in the instructions.

I'm very pleased with this product so far and definitely want to investigate its other uses in the future.

I mix equal portions of citric acid and eco living natural earth bleach to clean the bathrooms. It cleans effectively and helps remove limescale very well! Our bathrooms and parts of our sinks had some hardened limescale which is now nearly all gone thanks to continued use of this powder. I also use this to clean my kettle and washing machine. I am very glad to have found a fragrance free, very effective, environmental friendly, cleaning solution!

This has worked very well for descaling our toilets though on the first use, I followed the instructions on the packaging and poured in half of the bag. This turned out to be excessive and it just hardened at the bottom of the toilet — no problem, just poured bicarbonate of soda in, but by bit and they reacted and it got the hardened citric acid off. For routine descaling I only use 2-3 tablespoons at a time now. I need to do that about monthly/bimonthly with the hard water where we live, and it maintains the toilets very well. I would only use a half bag if the toilet needs heavy duty treatment.

Not the most glamorous review, but I am so so pleased!!! I have tried EVERYTHING to get the brown limescale stains from our toilet, wasting quite a lot of money and time. This stuff was the bees knees... poured hot water in the toilet, followed by 200g of this, left it for 3 hours and the limescale literally has just peeled off by itself. The toilet looks brand new again. Thank you!
