Poppets Wool Care Solid Lanolin Tin - 100% Pure
Treat your wool nappy covers to some TLC with Poppets 100% Pure Solid Lanolin. Lanolin provides a natural water-resistant layer to your wool wraps and boosts wool self-cleaning abilities helping them stay clean and fresh for longer. Poppets Wool Care Solid Lanolin is packaged in an aluminium tin and includes natural un-fragranced, or deliciously scented options.
What is lanolin?
Lanolin is a natural waxy substance produced by a sheep to make its fleece waterproof, breathable, and aids temperature regulation. When the wool is removed during shearing, the natural lanolin is stripped by detergents during washing.
New wool nappy wraps need lanolising before their first use, and existing wool covers must be lanolised periodically to maintain water resistance. By lanolising your wool covers you are returning the wool's natural breathable and water-repellent properties. Wool nappy wraps can resist water, and odours and naturally repel dirt with just the occasional wash and airing between uses. They are a popular wrap choice for nighttime reusable nappies.
How to use Poppets solid lanolin:
- Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water, enough to cover your wool wrap. No hotter than 30 degrees.
- Put 1/4 tsp of lanolin per cover into a standard mug, and add a Poppet Cloth Wipes Solution pod (or a squirt of baby wash).
- Add freshly boiled water to fill the mug, and stir until fully dissolved - the solution will go milky.
- Pour the solution into the lukewarm water. (Always check your water is no hotter than 30 degrees)
- Submerge the wool cover and leave it to soak for 4 hours.
- For new wool covers, repeat the process a further 2 times, no need to dry in between soaks. If refreshing a wool cover, just one soak is sufficient.
- To dry, gently squeeze the wool then lay out on a dry towel. Roll the towel up to squeeze out the excess. Lay flat or hang to dry.

Returns
If something isn't as expected, doesn't fit, or it's simply not right for you, just return it to us within 60 days of delivery for a no quibble refund. We do ask that items are returned in unused condition if you've simply changed your mind. If you have a faulty or damaged item please get in touch, return it to us for a refund or replacement and we'll cover the return costs.
