Crayon Rocks 8 Natural Crayons in Cotton Muslin Bag

This bag contains 8 colourful soy wax Crayon Rocks in a cotton muslin storage bag.

Made from soy wax and coloured with mineral pigments Crayon Rocks are a fun and creative way for children to draw and colour in pictures and practice their mark-making. As well as being lots of fun these rock shaped crayons are extremely durable and long-lasting, and allow children to colour in large wide strokes and help strengthen the tripod grip muscles.

These unusual pebble shaped crayons are specially designed to be ergonomic in preschoolers hands and are developmentally appropriate for early years learning. Designed by American Special Needs teacher Barbara Lee, who knew how important it was for all children to develop a good, strong “tripod” grip (using thumb, first and second fingers to grip) and develop fine motor skills, in preparation for learning to write. A brilliant first colouring tool for young children, in lovely vibrant colours that can be layered to create textures and beautiful artwork. Made in rural Kentucky in the USA and certified non-toxic and are vegan friendly.

Size 3.5cm

Safe, non-toxic, eco-friendly, vegan, phthalate free

Suitable for 3+ years. WARNING, not suitable for under 3 years - choking hazard

Sensory play: Develops fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, tripod grip and concentration.

Crayon rocks were originally created by a special needs education teacher for her students. The shapes help strengthen little muscles preparing children for using pen and pencil. Crayon rocks are simply great fun too and children love using them. Get creative!

Lovely crayons for my 2yo

These are lovely, and my daughter took to them straight away. They don’t require a lot of pressure to get a good line. Nice strong colours. I do think they’re expensive for the size, but will buy again if they last and wear down in a way that makes the whole thing (or most of it!) useable

Vibrant!

Creates colourful swoops with little effort brilliant as an introduction to colouring, I would be careful as these are small enough to swallow however 2 year old doesn’t.

Great for fine motor skill development

Bought to help my preschooler who was struggling with a pencil grip. They really helped and as a bonus the colour from these is impressive, really rich and beautiful.

Crayon Rocks

Crayon rocks were originally created by Barbara Lee, a special education teacher who noticed that many of her students could not write adequately to pass their exams. This led her to realise how important it is for children to develop a strong tripod grip in their early years, as their future handwriting depends on it! These cleverly shaped Crayon Rocks help strengthen little muscles, preparing children for using a pen and pencil. Crayon rocks are simply great fun too and children love using them. Get creative and draw something colourful with Crayon Rocks!
