Shower Blocks Gel Bar - Coffee & Vanilla

I gave this to my sister-in-law for Christmas who is 7 months pregnant. She loved the smell and said it reminded her of the coffee shop. It's made her skin super soft, smell amazing and will be a repeat purchase.

I hate leaving negative reviews but it’s important to leave an accurate review.

Purchased this 20th August and was immediately in love with the scent. First use: wow! After 2.5 years of various other body bars in the Bath/shower, this was bliss. Soft, immediate lather and I could still catch a faint whiff of scent on my skin by evening. My review then would have been 5 stars, no doubt. It’s even lasted 8 weeks with probably another 7-10 days still available.

However, within a week or so I noticed an accumulation of soap scum around my plug that had never been there before. Over the next few days it continued to accumulate and there would also be a sticky trail of soap down the shower wall where it dripped from the soap saver bag I kept it in. Again, not something I’d had an issue with before with other bars stored exactly the same way (including the shampoo bar hanging beside it). After a few more weeks, I noticed the water was draining slower during/after my shower. Yesterday, 8 weeks into using the bar I woke up to find a less than pleasant smell through my house; eau de drain.

Now, that *had* happened for the entire block of flats a year ago (naughty neighbour flushing baby wipes), but investigations within the block showed this was isolated to my bathroom alone.

Hot water, then bicarbonate and vinegar lifted enough gunk back into my bath to be certain I’d found the cause. But it took 2 goes with industrial unclogging supplies to fully shift things (completely cancelling out any benefit of buying the shower block in the first place and then some). This morning the smell has gone, confirming that it was the shower/bath pipe involved. The bathroom was only refitted last November/December, so I can only conclude that the Shower Block was the culprit. I have very soft Scottish water (trust a Fishkeeper to know her water parameters!) so no limescale, but perhaps that has contributed; I don’t know. I just know this was my experience and I think it’s only fair other people read it and decide for themselves.

The smell reminds me of the shop aisle with coffee on one side and chocolate on the other which I love. It’s a subtle smell after a wash with the block.

If you're like me and just miss that shower gel feeling this is definitely the product for you. It really does have that gel like feeling when wet and is a nice consistency I'd even go as far as using it as a shaving gel.

It has a strong smell when in bar form but not overpowering when you apply it to your skin. It leaves your skin feeling clean and hydrated.

Will definitely be purchasing some other scents!
