    Grimm's Small Stepped Counting Blocks

This miniature wooden block set includes 100 small blocks that sit in a wooden frame and can be used for counting and maths games as well as building colourful constructions. It's a great size for taking out and about for learning on the go but makes a great educational toy for the home or classroom too. The 100 blocks sit in a tray in rows of ten, each row taller than the other, giving a stylish stepped effect when on display. They're fantastic for counting and learning about the fundamentals of maths - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. As well as being a great wooden maths toy, this educational toy doubles up as a building block set which can be used on its own or combined with other wooden blocks from Babipur to build a town or create patterns, shapes and landscapes. Children will love to learn, play and build with these beautiful blocks which come in a range of rainbow colours. Steiner educators and home educators will love this multi-purpose educational toy as it can be used for natural play in a myriad of ways.

The blocks are made with lime wood and have been stained with water-based colour, allowing the natural grain of the wood to shine through.

This set is suitable from age 3+. The storage tray measures 22.5cm x 22.5cm. The blocks measure 2cm thick and are between 1cm and 10cm long.

Sensory toy: hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor skills, tripod grip

Please note: due to distribution restrictions we cannot send Grimm's toys to addresses outside of the UK and Ireland.

Featuring toys to shake, build or pull along, Babi Pur’s range of Grimm’s toys has something for every child to fall in love with. The quality of these toys is superb and their appeal is timeless – we’re sure that they will be treasured not only by your children but by your grandchildren too.

Grimm’s educational wooden toys are made in Europe from alder, lime, beech and maple, all sourced from sustainably managed European forests. They are made in handpicked workshops across Europe and coated with natural colours and oils by the Grimm’s team in Germany. All of the paints and lacquer used to finish your lovingly made Grimm’s toy are harmless and enhance the natural beauty of the wood, allowing the grain to shine through.

Grimm’s Toys are inspired by the Waldorf Steiner education movement which advocates learning through thoughtful, creative play at an unhurried pace. Toys play an important part of the learning experience and Waldorf toys are made with natural materials, beautiful and simplistic – the lack of details allow children to fill in the blanks with their imaginations. They can be used in multiple ways in creative play scenarios, rather than being prescriptive. Waldorf-inspired toys are wonderfully tactile and call on children to play with them.

Underrated

As the smaller cousin to the larger stepped grimms this doesn't get much hype but we love it. My 1 year old loves the colours and its perfect for little hands, the texture makes them easy to grab and learn new building skills. Some blocks are quite small so definitely requires supervision for younger kids.

Can't wait to see it opened at Christmas

Unfortunately I have to wait until Christmas for my girls (7 and 4) to open this as I've bought it as a Christmas present for them to share. Slightly smaller than I expected but will still have great play opportunities with the added bonus of being used for maths learning too. Mega excited for Christmas now.

Firm favourite

We bought this for my daughter at Christmas. It’s been played with pretty much every day since she opened it. I’d say it’s definitely her favourite toy. She plays with it on its own as well as with other toys. She builds things towers, makes bridges, little pedestals for her animal... all sorts. The possibilities are endless.
