    Grimm's Rainbow Building Boards

This set of 11 wooden boards stained in bright rainbow colours are the perfect fit for the 12-piece Grimm's rainbow and semi-circles - combine all three to make rooms for a dolls' house, stables and sheds on a toy farm, or wonderful worlds for peg people. Or just use with the rainbow to learn about weight and balancing. Creative children will find a whole load of other ways to incorporate them into building games and making patterns, and they're also great as counting aids, for colour sorting and as ingredients in a play kitchen. This simple open-ended toy can be used in a myriad of ways to inspire creativity and learning.

These building boards can be used on their own to build colourful buildings and can be combined with other block sets too for unlimited architectural possibilities. Children will love building with these beautiful slats which come in a range of rainbow colours. The blocks are made with lime wood and have been stained with water-based colour, allowing the natural grain of the wood to shine through. Steiner educators will love this multi-purpose educational toy.

This toy is suitable from 12 months.

Each board is 8mm thick, 7cm wide and between 10-37cm long.

Schematic play: This toy will appeal to children demonstrating the positioning schema - balancing, sorting and stacking toys and objects in a particular order or place.

Sensory toy: hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor skills, balance.

Please note: due to distribution restrictions we cannot send Grimm's toys to addresses outside of the UK and Ireland.

Featuring toys to shake, build or pull along, Babi Pur’s range of Grimm’s toys has something for every child to fall in love with. The quality of these toys is superb and their appeal is timeless – we’re sure that they will be treasured not only by your children but by your grandchildren too.

Grimm’s educational wooden toys are made in Europe from alder, lime, beech and maple, all sourced from sustainably managed European forests. They are made in handpicked workshops across Europe and coated with natural colours and oils by the Grimm’s team in Germany. All of the paints and lacquer used to finish your lovingly made Grimm’s toy are harmless and enhance the natural beauty of the wood, allowing the grain to shine through.

Grimm’s Toys are inspired by the Waldorf Steiner education movement which advocates learning through thoughtful, creative play at an unhurried pace. Toys play an important part of the learning experience and Waldorf toys are made with natural materials, beautiful and simplistic – the lack of details allow children to fill in the blanks with their imaginations. They can be used in multiple ways in creative play scenarios, rather than being prescriptive. Waldorf-inspired toys are wonderfully tactile and call on children to play with them.

Rainbow roads!

Our current most popular use for these is as a road for toy animals. I think, as my daughter gets older, they'll be used more in builds. They have a lovely feel and, as with all Grimms, the colours and quality are great.

Another great Grimms set for the Collection

Another great open ended toy from Grimms, ideal for building the imagination. We already have the rainbows and semi circles so these go brilliantly with the collection. They’ve been used to make a castle and roads and I know there will be many many more play opportunities. I love to buy ethically made toys that won’t hurt the planet or bring poisons into my home.
